Bestiarum | July 2026
A brute stands in bravado on top of the barricade, but unbeknownst to him the goblins are already digging tunnels under them...
My first diorama ever!! Man that was a lot of painting, but I'm happy with the results. Lots of firsts here: first time using enamel wash all over, varnish washes, and mud FX.
Taking a picture of something this size was also a first. As a person that has no idea about taking pictures, the depth of field was a bit... let's say frustrating.
To hide the little fella, a goblin grunt from Bestiarum of course, I had to print the barricade hollow and as thin as 0.2mm. This caused lots of issues like cracks, but epoxy clay came to the rescue, also a first for me. Then I drilled the hole between the wheels, chopped the goblin's legs, arms, and half the torso, and glued it with the head poking out.
The base is also custom. It's the biggest oval base I could print but it wasn't big enough, so I used clay to expand the size. I figured that even with the uneven clay shape, with the mud FX the borders would look like mud too.
Very happy with this one!
